Raw Thought

Cities

The densest cities in America, according to the 1990 census:

  1. New York, NY (7M people over 309 sq. mi.)
  2. San Francisco, CA (.7M in 47)
  3. Chicago, IL (2M in 227)
  4. Boston, MA (.5M in 48)
  5. Philadelphia, PA (1.5M in 135)

Maybe there is something to my wanting to move to Philadelphia after all.

Everyone’s been complaining about how I’m too critical, too much of a downer. Well, here you go: it’s the nice week. Five posts on five cities saying only nice things. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

As a (west) Philadelphian, I can definitely see you fitting in here. Your interest in social activism has a natural fit here; I believe we lead the nation in number of non-profits organizations.

Lunch is on me if you are ever in town. (I’ve used enough of your freely available software that it seems only fair.)

Likewise, lunch is on me if you’re ever near Portland, OR (on the other hand, I may be moving to San Mateo soon). Hope you have a nice week.

Vancouver, Canada fits in at the number 3 spot currently in North America. It’s a pretty awesome city too.

Another vote for Aaron moving to Philadelphia. The last thing I ever expected was to fall in love with this city, but that’s exactly what happened.
